Ghana’s Ambassador to Egypt Visits Ghanaian Battalion in Lebanon

Ghana’s Ambassador to Egypt, His Excellency Dr Winfred Nii Hammond has paid a visit to the Ghanaian Battalion in Lebanon (GHANBATT) on Friday, 17 July 2020 as part of his official visit to Lebanon.

The Ambassador who is also responsible for Lebanon and Sudan toured some GHANBATT positions where he was briefed and orientated to the Blue Line.

During a durbar with troops at the Battalion’s Headquarters in Al-Qouzah, the Ambassador commended GHANBATT for their professionalism and sacrifices to the peace efforts in South Lebanon and their resource contribution to the economy of Ghana.

Earlier, he paid a courtesy call on the Head of Mission and Force Commander of UNIFIL, Major General Stefano Del Col and the Deputy Force Commander, Ghana’s Brigadier General Irvine Nii-Ayitey Aryeetey at the Force Headquarters.

He was accompanied by the Honorary Consul of Ghana to Lebanon, His Excellency Michel Haddad, the Consular Officer, Mr Jacob Selasie Aheto and the Head of Chancery Section, Mr Yahaya Amantana Mahama.
