Hajia Safiaya Hudu, a porridge seller at the Pension House Canteen near the Army Headquarters in Burma Camp has received a gas cylinder and a two burner stove from the Chief of the Army Staff to aid her porridge business at the premises.
The Commanding Officer (CO) of Army Headquarters Camp, Lieutenant Colonel Andrews Allipoe, donated the items on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah on 16 September 2020 at the Pension House Canteen.
During the presentation, Lt Col Allipoe said that the donation was in fulfillment of the Army Commander’s promise to provide Hajia Safiaya with a cylinder and a burner to enable her to properly and hygienically prepare her food which is patronized by personnel. He added that the items would go a long way to prevent air pollution and reduce the health risks associated with the use of firewood in cooking.
The CO stated that the donation formed part of the COAS’ Corporate Social Responsibility.
Hajia Safiaya Hudu received the items and expressed her appreciation to the COAS and prayed for God’s blessings for him to continue with his good works. She further gave the assurance to put the item to good use.
