Continental Blue Investment limited (CBI), manufacturers of Ghana's high-quality cement under the brand name Supacem, has presented 850 bags of cement to the Ghana Air Force at the Accra Base on Thursday, 17 September 2020.
The presentation formed part of the company's Cooperate Social Responsibility (CSR) to supporting key institutions in the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Board Chairman of the company; Mr Paul Albrect said the company produces high quality cement for Ghanaians to build their dreams and added that the production will help create jobs in the country.
He hinted of the company’s support for the Ghana Air Force in the area of engineering.
Receiving the bags of cement on behalf of the Air Force, Chief Staff Officer (CSO) of the Air Force Air; Commodore Jacob Anum Ashirifie thanked CBI for the kind gesture and also having confidence in the service for its ability to utilise the cement to enhance the effectiveness of the service in providing air transportation for national defence and development. Continuing, he said the gesture would go a long way to prove that forging strategic partnership with well-meaning companies and entities was a sure way to supplementing government's efforts at providing the needed resources.
CSO said government has accelerated the construction of various projects across all Garrison under the Barracks Regeneration Project and the Air Force would embark on self-help projects with willing individuals and companies to fill the existing gaps.
The company currently produces 32.5R grade to meet the quality standards, GS1118 and EN 197, of the Ghana Standards Board. The company is affiliated to LafargeHolcim, a leading producer of the highest global standards cement.
